Opportunities for Learning William S. Hart (Santa Clarita, Canyon Country, and Ridgecrest) is proud to be a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Exclusive Partner. We provide all instruction in a workforce context offering students the opportunity to prepare for their college and career goals prior to graduation. Students can take advantage of internships, work experience, job placement, and family wrap around services.

Curriculum is embedded with materials and activities that strengthen students soft skills and workforce development. All students have the opportunity to work closely with our WIOA partner organizations. In addition, we offer 12 months of mentoring and follow-up once a student leaves our program. Ensuring students leave prepared to enter the workplace is our number one priority.

Opportunities For Learning (OFL),
a network of free public charter high schools in Southern California, offers students a flexible, personalized approach to education.

We have the support students need

Students work independently at a pace tailored to their ability and learning level, as teachers provide individualized attention and guidance. The low student-teacher ratio allows each student to meet one-on-one with their teacher to discuss homework, course packets, and testing. Student Advisors, Counselors, and FREE Tutors provide additional support as needed to help each and every student graduate and achieve their dreams.

We work around students’ schedules

Students can enroll any weekday of the year; there is no need to wait for classes to start or the semester to begin. Once enrolled, students, parents, and teachers partner to create a class schedule that respects and meets the needs of students.

Diverse class formats for every learner

In addition to independent study courses, students have the option and are encouraged to participate in small group and online instruction. Math, English, and Sciences are taught in small groups, free from distractions. These diverse class formats incorporate collaborative projects that encourage critical thinking and social interaction while maintaining a safe environment.

Help students to be college-ready

Post-secondary and career counseling is provided to every student. Juniors and seniors attend FREE college tours throughout the year and learn what to consider when selecting a school including size, major and minor programs, clubs, location, and campus life. Students take part in workshops that expose them to application processes like obtaining.
